Lactation & Feeding

Typical cash: $75–$300 per visit

Help with latch, supply, pain, pumping, and feeding your baby.

Signs this might help

  • breastfeeding hurts
  • painful latch or cracked nipples
  • baby will not latch
  • low milk supply
  • not making enough milk
  • engorged, clogged duct, or mastitis
  • help with pumping or pumping at work

What to expect

  1. 1. Start with an IBCLC to assess feeding and function
  2. 2. If needed, they refer to a pediatric dentist or ENT for a tongue-tie evaluation

Coverage: Often $0 with insurance — the ACA requires most plans to cover lactation support at no cost.

Pelvic Floor & Physical Recovery

Typical cash: $165–$220 per session

Recovery for leaking, prolapse, pain, diastasis, and getting back to movement.

Signs this might help

  • I leak when I cough, sneeze, or jump
  • heaviness or something falling out (prolapse)
  • sex is painful after birth
  • my c-section scar hurts or feels numb
  • ab separation or coning (diastasis recti)
  • pelvic pain
  • back or hip pain since delivery

Coverage: Often covered as outpatient physical therapy.

Perinatal Mental Health

Typical cash: $150–$250 per session

Support for postpartum depression, anxiety, intrusive thoughts, and birth trauma.

Signs this might help

  • I feel sad, empty, or hopeless
  • I cry all the time
  • anxious, panicky, or worrying constantly
  • scary or intrusive thoughts
  • I do not feel bonded with my baby
  • so angry or irritable since the baby
  • my birth was traumatic and I keep reliving it
  • I do not feel like myself

Coverage: Often covered as behavioral health.

Infant Bodywork & Chiropractic

Typical cash: $75–$250 per session

Gentle bodywork for tension, torticollis, fussiness, and feeding-related tightness.

Signs this might help

  • baby only turns head one way (torticollis)
  • flat spot on baby head
  • baby seems tense or arches back
  • baby is gassy or spits up a lot
  • baby is colicky and cries a lot
  • lactation consultant said baby has tension

Coverage: Usually cash-pay.

Postpartum Doulas

Typical cash: $50–$75 per hour

In-home support, overnight help, and guidance in the fourth trimester.

  • I want overnight newborn help
